YOUR PRIVACY

Privacy policy.

Effective 31 October 2026.

MoodStrip is published by Urmia Works, operated by Urmia Holding AS in Norway. For privacy questions, contact [email protected].

Your photos and creations

MoodStrip uses your camera only when you choose the capture experience. It processes photos, captions, expression prompts, frames and filters locally on your device. It does not operate a photo upload service, account system or automated facial-expression scoring service.

Storage and deletion

The current draft and app settings are stored on your device. Clear temporary files removes the current draft and private share copies. Starting a new challenge replaces the old draft after confirmation. Saved gallery images remain until you delete them using your device tools. Cloud backup of app-private drafts is disabled in the app configuration; your gallery or device provider may separately offer backup under its own settings.

Sharing

Share opens Android's share sheet. You choose the destination. The selected app receives access to the exported image and applies its own privacy practices. MoodStrip does not automatically post your image.

Optional advertising and consent

The ad-enabled edition includes Google Mobile Ads and Google's User Messaging Platform. Advertising requires a connection and follows the applicable consent checks. Google services may collect or share IP address and general location inferred from it, app interactions, diagnostics, and device or account identifiers for advertising, measurement and fraud prevention. Photos, captions and expression choices are not provided by MoodStrip to these services. Local photo processing does not mean that the ad-enabled edition collects no data.

When required, use Advertising privacy choices in Settings. Disabling the optional advertising connection stops new ad requests by the app; it does not undo prior processing. Free camera, editing and exports remain usable if consent or advertising is unavailable. The separate offline edition contains no advertising SDK and has no internet permission.

Intended audience and age handling

MoodStrip is intended for adults aged 18 and over. This is our product policy, not a statement that every country's consent age is 18. When you enable optional advertising, the production app first asks Google Play for an age-range signal. Google Play may display its own permission or verification interface. MoodStrip does not ask you to enter your date of birth or upload an identity document.

Advertising is enabled only if Play reports an eligible adult age range and regional consent checks allow it. A minor, supervised, missing, declined or unavailable signal keeps advertising disabled. Offline photo tools remain available. The age range and signal source are used in memory for this eligibility decision; MoodStrip does not save them, create an age profile, or send them to advertisers. Google Play handles information used by its age service under its own policies.

MoodStrip requests non-personalized ads and enables Google's restricted data processing signal. These settings limit advertising uses; they do not prevent all advertising data processing or replace consent where it is required.

Service providers and international processing

Advertising is provided by Google AdMob. The consent message, where displayed, identifies the applicable partners and purposes. Google and its partners may process advertising information outside your country. Their retention and transfer practices are described in Google's privacy policy, how Google uses information from partner apps, and Google's Mobile Ads data disclosure. MoodStrip does not send your photos or captions to these providers.

Your rights and contact

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, object to or restrict processing, withdraw consent, or complain to your local data protection authority. Contact [email protected] about information held by Urmia Works. MoodStrip has no server-side photo account to delete; remove local drafts in Settings and saved images in your gallery. Advertising choices and requests concerning Google's processing can also be managed through the in-app privacy controls and Google's privacy tools.

If you contact support, we receive the information you include in your message and use it to respond and resolve your request. Please do not send photos unless they are necessary to your request.
