ReadFlow — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 20 October 2026

readFlow is provided by Urmia Works, operated by Urmia Holding AS. This policy explains the free Android release, version 1.0.67 and later, and the older server-based versions described below.

Your documents and reading

In version 1.0.67 and later, PDF and supported text-based Word files, text extraction, and OCR are processed on your phone. Your library, reading position, bookmarks and preferences are stored in the app's private storage. We do not send your document contents, titles or reading history to advertising providers.

Downloaded rF AI speech runs on your phone. Downloading the voice pack connects to the model provider, which receives normal connection information such as your IP address. Phone voice uses the speech engine you select in Android; that engine's provider and settings determine whether it uses an online service. readFlow does not record your voice or listening audio and does not request microphone access.

Library advertising and privacy choices

The free release uses Google AdMob for advertisements in the library, not inside the reader. Google's advertising SDK may collect and share IP addresses (which can indicate approximate location), device or account identifiers, ad and app interactions, and diagnostic information for advertising, measurement and fraud prevention. Ad choices and availability depend on your region and consent settings.

We delay advertising measurement until the consent flow permits ad requests. Where required, a Google consent form asks for your choices. Use Ad privacy choices in the library to revisit applicable choices. Reading remains available when ads cannot load or when you are offline.

See Google's Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from apps that use its services. We do not provide book text, filenames or document metadata as advertising inputs.

Optional support payments

The new free release offers an optional one-time support contribution through Google Play. It is not a subscription, does not renew and does not unlock features or remove ads. Google Play handles payment details. The app receives the purchase result and token to process the contribution, and stores the last support time locally to avoid frequent requests. We do not receive your card details.

Support

No readFlow login is required. The app creates a random Support ID stored on your phone. If you choose Report a problem, your email app opens a draft containing the app version, operating-system version and Support ID. You decide whether to send it and what details to include. We receive your email address and anything you choose to send. Do not attach private documents unless you intend to share them for support.

Older app versions

Versions up to 1.0.66 use our backend for document extraction and OCR. Their cloud AI actions and cloud voice send relevant text to our backend and OpenAI. Their subscription checks use Google Play and RevenueCat, linked to an anonymous app identifier. These versions can generate server logs and usage counts. Temporary processing caches may contain extracted document text or AI results. Updating the app does not itself delete records already held by service providers.

Older subscriptions are managed through Google Play. Installing the free release does not itself cancel an existing subscription. Review subscriptions in Google Play and contact us about a payment or historical data request.

Storage and deletion

Removing a book deletes its saved app copy and associated reading data. Android's app-data controls can clear all local readFlow data; copies outside the app are not deleted. Advertising and payment providers apply their own retention policies. Contact us to request access, correction or deletion of information you sent to support or that older versions processed, subject to necessary legal records.

Children and security

readFlow is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly request personal information from children. Network services use HTTPS and documents in the offline release remain within app storage. No storage or transmission system can be guaranteed completely secure.
